Registration Options
Join us for Boxwood Canada 2022 in a variety of ways:
In-Person
Register for The Works: all classes, concerts, evening activities and two meals. Online access is included.
• $750 CAD: Adult
• $500 CAD: Adult Work-Study or Teen Work-Study.
• $150 CAD: five (5) à la carte classes
In-Person registrations are limited to keep class sizes small. Our Patreon annual members receive 1st priority, so please register early. Register here.
Online
Join us from anywhere in the world via streaming for a select group of our Boxwood Canada 2022 classes. We'll be offering three 75 min. long classes each day, streamed live, and recorded for your later viewing. Options include:
• $350 CAD for all 15 classes (three each day for five days)
• $125 CAD for the Celtic Stream (5 classes)
• $125 CAD for the Baroque Stream (5 classes)
• $30 CAD individual classes

Sea Aires Choir
This in-person group led by Janelle Lucyk and Eamon O'Leary meets once each day M-F and is included as part of an In-Person registration, however the group is open to the community. Drop-ins and single classes are not available as each class will build on the previous day.
• $125/adult | $75/student for five afternoon sessions (does not conflict with the flute choir). To join us for the Sea Aires Choir, register here.
Boxwood Flute Choir
This in-person group led by Andra Bohnet meets once each day M-F and is included as part of an In-Person registration, however the group is open to the community. Drop-ins and single classes not available as each class will build on the previous day. You'll need a flute @440, and have the basics of playing in-hand. Modern Boehm flutes (piccolo, tenor, alto, bass) and wooden flutes in D are all welcome.

Boxwood Kids
We welcome kids age 8-12 for a magical week exploring traditional music, dance and crafts. To register your child, register here.

Please note that this schedule covers the main events and classes, and is subject to change as registrations continue and we get a clearer picture of everyone's interests. It doesn't include smaller ad-hoc classes, gatherings and one-on-ones for special topics such as recorder, fiddle, banjo, accordion, which are usually set up on-site directly with your tutor.

Morning and afternoon classes taking place at Lunenburg Academy, Lunenburg School of the Arts, Central United Church and other venues TBD.
Each evening we come together for activities including: Two Ceilidh & square dances, BBQ night, Talent Night, Historical walks, Two concerts (Sun & Friday), and jam sessions at various locations.
Lodging, Transport, Meals
Lodging is not included in the registration price. Due to changing dynamics, we're no longer able to offer participant billeting with local hosts, however there are more accommodation options than ever in the Lunenburg area and we may have some reasonable accommodation options available, so contact us to learn more. Boxwood is providing two meals during the week: Opening dinner and a BBQ night both sourced from local organic producers. For other meals during the week, please support the many wonderful restaurants, eateries, and small independent grocers in Lunenburg the surrounding area! Jam sessions will be licensed for BYOB beer & wine only.
We're here to help coordinate transportation from Halifax and the Halifax Robert Stanfield Airport (YHZ). We can either connect you with someone who is already driving down, or coordinate a shuttle at a reasonable price. Let us know how we can help get you here.
Grinter Scholarship
Thanks to our generous and thoughtful donors, Boxwood is pleased to continue its scholarship program. The Mike Grinter Memorial Young Artists Scholarship program offers tuition assistance for this year’s festival in Lunenburg, NS. Mike, a great friend and master craftsman dedicated his lifetime’s work to making flutes of the highest calibre from his workshops in Chewton, Ennis & Thailand. In memory of Mike, and in honour of his work, we're continuing our scholarship in his name.
The 2022 scholarship is open to all applicants who will be under 30 years of age as of 1 August, 2022. Scholarships are open to players of all instruments as well as singers. In order to accommodate as many people as possible, scholarships may be awarded to cover a portion of the tuition. Those wishing to apply should send a letter describing their musical journey thus far and provide a sample of their playing or singing. Please email your application before 15 June 2022. Accommodation during the weekend is the responsibility of the recipient.
Payment/Cancellation Policy
For In-Person Full Registrations, including Work-Study options, full payment is due no later than 4 weeks prior to the start of the festival (June 24, 2022). Sea Aires Choir and Boxwood Flute Choir may register up to 2-weeks prior.
Cancellations requested 30 days in advance will receive a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. COVID-related cancellation/refund requests will be honored at any date.
COVID Guidelines
Boxwood adheres to the safe health guidelines and directives of the Nova Scotia Public Health Authority. Effective March 21st, 2022 the Province of Nova Scotia has lifted all pandemic related restrictions. At this time, to maintain the safety of our programming, we have chosen to continue with the following guidelines:

- Our indoor workshops will have a gathering limit of 12 persons (including the instructor/s) and will maintain physical distancing by providing participants with their spaces. To accommodate larger groups, some classes will take place outdoors, weather permitting.
- Public events will host no more than (50% of venue maximum capacity).

- The wearing of masks is optional.

- Please do not join our classes or events if you have tested positive for COVID-19, experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days.
