Join us for a chat with Dr. Elizabeth Ford, one of today’s leading scholars on the flute in early Scotland. Elizabeth will share some newly discovered gems unearthed from her recent work including ‘Early Wind Music from Scotland’ (Septenary Editions), William McGibbon Complete Sonatas (A-R Editions), and her seminal work ‘The Flute in Scotland from the 16th to the 18th Century (Peter Lang Press). Elizabeth is co-founder of Blackwater Press in Charleston, WV. She was the 2018-19 Daiches-Manning Memorial Fellow in 18th-century Scottish Studies at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh. She has also had fellowships from the Handel Institute, and at the Abi Rosenthal Visiting Fellowship in Music at the Bodleian Library, as well as the Martha Goldsby Arnold Fellowship at the Riemenschneider Bach Institute.
